Finished a course? Found the vein on the first try for once? Got the certificate that’s going on your application? Post it.

Medicine is a long road and it’s easy to only ever look at the part still ahead of you. This thread is for turning around and seeing how far you’ve already come. Small wins count. Especially small wins.

Drop yours below, and cheer for the people who got there before you.

First clean stick on the arm with zero fishing around. Felt like nothing. Felt like everything. Logging it here.

Decoding Medicine, done and certificate in hand. Six weeks ago the textbooks looked like another language. Onwards.

Went a whole first aid demo without going lightheaded. For me that’s basically a graduation. Will accept applause.

Marcus, that genuinely is a win, and not a small one. The body getting out of your way is half the battle in those first months. Well done, all of you. Glad Anton kicked this thread off, it’s the one I most hoped people would be brave enough to post in.

Ok this thread is making my night better after a closing shift. Mine is small but I finally got my anatomy grade back up after a rough midterm, like a full letter grade jump on the final. I basically lived in office hours and flashcards for a month straight while still working my usual shifts, so seeing that grade felt huge even if nobody else would blink at it.

Also just hit 50 shadowing hours in the ER this week, which doesn’t sound like much next to suture courses and clean IV sticks, but I’ll take it. Congrats to everyone posting, this is exactly the kind of thing I need to see on my breaks.
