      got the kit, been practising. i find the vein fine but i keep pushing too far and going out the other side. flash of blood then nothing. what am i doing wrong

      Classic. You’re going in too steep and too deep. Once you get the flash, basically stop. Lower your angle almost flat and advance just a tiny bit. You barely move after the flash.

      Kabelo nailed it. The flash is your signal that the tip is in the lumen. Drop the angle close to parallel with the skin and advance only a couple of millimetres so the whole bevel is inside, then hold dead still. Most through-and-through misses are a steep angle plus too much forward push after the flash. Shallower and stiller fixes it. Do ten focusing only on stopping at the flash and you’ll feel the difference tonight.
