1. Foundations of medical terminology

The building blocks: an introduction to medical terminology, Greek versus Latin roots, common and special prefixes, suffixes, how word parts combine, and anatomical directions and positions.

2. System-based medical terminology

The terminology for fourteen body systems in turn, from the integumentary, cardiovascular, respiratory, and digestive systems through to the nervous, endocrine, sensory, and mental and behavioral health systems.

3. Specialized medical disciplines

The language of real medical settings:

  • Pharmacology and drug classifications
  • Diagnostics, imaging, radiology, and laboratory terminology
  • Oncology, obstetrics and neonatology, and geriatrics
